Working at a large table, a middle school pair of collaborators determine the best way to light up their cardboard robot - where just hours before, a team of 2nd graders crafted a roller coaster for marbles to zip through.
In the same studio where 3rd graders have been prepping their clay designs for firing, an 8th grader researches artists to find inspiration for her next project.
In the front lawn’s gazebo, a 6th grade English class rehearses their poetry presentations while Kindergartners romp nearby, learning basic lacrosse skills.
And in the conference room, parents are discussing strategies to manage kids and screen time, having recently seen a parenting ed presentation on this topic.
At the Swain School, we build a foundation for students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Using the latest child development research, we have a dynamic program that is designed for each developmental division within the school. From our three-year-olds to our eighth graders, our curriculum gradually progresses over the years to meet the needs of students, at each stage.
Our outstanding faculty teach students how to think, interact, and know themselves as learners and community members. This is accomplished through close relationships, where every student is appreciated as an individual and safely challenged to become their best self. As educators at Swain, we make it a priority to partner with parents, so that we are able to discover and encourage the gifts in every child to help them flourish and get the most out of their academic career.
Our graduates go on to top high schools all over the country, where they thrive because they have developed a solid foundation and the skills necessary to help them navigate education and life. At Swain, we prepare students for their future, not our past.
